Who qualifies

Senior citizens. Mention it when you request your quote and it is applied to the price you are given.

Seasonal moves

If you keep two homes and move between them, this is the most common reason seniors ship a vehicle — and the timing is predictable, which works in your favour.

Book earlier than feels necessary. The southbound movement in autumn and the northbound return in spring concentrate enormous demand onto the same corridors within a few weeks. Carrier supply on those lanes tightens hard and prices follow. Booking ahead of the wave is the single biggest saving available, and it is larger than the discount.

Book both legs at once if you know both dates. If you go south in autumn and return in spring, arranging the pair in one conversation means the return is planned before the spring rush rather than during it.

Making the day straightforward

Someone must be present at collection and delivery to check the vehicle and sign the bill of lading. If being there is difficult, nominate a family member or neighbour — brief them properly, because they are signing the condition record.

The truck may not reach your door. Full-size haulers cannot enter every street, and many retirement and gated communities restrict commercial vehicles. Where that is the case we agree an accessible meeting point a few minutes away, in advance. See door-to-door auto transport.

Take everything out of the car. Carriers are not licensed to move household goods and personal items are not covered.

Expect a call before delivery. The carrier gives 3 to 24 hours voice notification to the numbers you supplied. Keep them reachable.

Which transport type

Open transport is the economical standard. Enclosed suits a vehicle whose value or condition makes exposure the wrong trade — including a well-kept classic.

What the discount applies to

The discount reduces the transport price we quote you. It does not change how the shipment works — the factors that drive your quote apply the same way: distance, lane density, vehicle size and running condition, open or enclosed transport, timing flexibility and season.

A 10% reduction on an honestly-priced quote beats a bigger-sounding discount off an inflated one. We publish no rate card to discount from.
